This Thanksgiving be thankful for all the little things!
It’s the little things in life that matter most and make our journey worthwhile
Like watching the way a mother holds her baby and the heartfelt love seen in her smile
Cute little things like the joy of a little girl or boy, when playing with their best buddy
Or the way their tiny face lights up with wonder the first time they see a puppy
Comforting little things that warm you like homemade soup or a fire on a cold day
Being together, holding hands, cuddling, a caress, or tickling in bed as you play
Tender little things such as hugging someone just because they need you there
When it’s enough for them to see your face or the smell the fragrance of your hair
Romantic little things that make you fall in love forever with that special someone
The laughs and tears through both the hard and wondrous years that can never be undone
Sad little things not often remembered, until it goes away or they are no longer around
A favorite place to eat, a childhood friend, a bark to greet, or a familiar song or sound
Funny little things like getting soaked in the rain when you locked the keys in the car
Or realizing others are watching as you both close your eyes and wish upon a star
Grateful little things like the kindness of a stranger who selflessly performs a good deed
Or a friend who knows when you are in trouble and prays for the Lord to help you succeed
Spiritual little things like loving your neighbor, showing kindness, and staying humble and meek
Not judging others, practicing the golden rule, helping the poor, and turning the other cheek
Hopeful little things like getting on your knees and praying; I can’t, you never said I could
But knowing all along that God was with you and that He can and always said He would
Faithful little things, some small as a mustard seed, like a child’s simple prayer each night
Recalling a helpful passage, the hope of salvation, and Jesus there keeping you in His sight
All of life’s beautiful little things that He orchestrated, to make you smile, and to help you see
How glorious it will be with God in Heaven, every little moment, and for the rest of eternity
Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires.
James 3:4
So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Matthew 17:20
Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin
Zechariah 4:10
He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much
Luke 16:10
“I cannot you never said I could. You can, you always said you would”
Major Ian Thomas
The joy of a family or rather my own household is what I await. I was locked up for 19 years so I definitely appreciate the little things. They were what I was trying to get back to. Beautifully written.
Yes! Great Write! I was in wonder even before I read the content. Little things always pique my attention and start the salivations of my mind. You delivered quite well. Thank you. Especially beautiful were the quotes in your addendum: I so loved. Again, I say, Great Write.
