Another Year
Another year is coming one more year is left behind
And no one really knows what come tomorrow they will find
To meet them in the morning when before the sun they rise
Or in the late of evening when the sun has left the skies
But everyone might know no matter what will come to earth
The confidence that comes to those who know God through rebirth
The confidence that every challenge they may have to face
Is just an opportunity to trust in Jesus' grace
The grace He had to live by when He walked this earth below
When Satan was a constant threat in every place He'd go
A threat to our redemption if he once could make Christ fail
And even His destruction that His failing would entail
For Christ as He was fully God and fully Man as well
When walking One among us also faced the fires of Hell
Should He in word or action in the smallest way had slipped
For only He could shed the blood in which we all must dip
To have His perfect cleansing as the Saviour of our souls
For which the plan in heaven long before this world was told
To those who had been faithful in the army of the Lord
When Satan and his angels in rebellion had ignored
The warnings of compassion God had given them to see
If they should choose rebellion against His divinity
And choose to fight against Him in the battle for His throne
Assuming though created they could make His throne their own
But pride means self-destruction to the self deceptive soul
That has no understanding of the plan that makes us whole
The plan that we discover when we give our all to Him
Who gave His all upon the cross to save the souls of them
Who would seek every morning every hour every day
To walk in close communion with the Life the Truth the Way
And know with fullest confidence no matter what will come
Will simply be another step that's added to the sum
Of all that makes us holy in our walk with Christ the Lord
Who orders every step we take when His will's not ignored
And promises His Kingdom will soon be our final Home
Where we His chosen people will at last need never roam
Psalm 119:49-56; Hebrews 5:1-9; 1 Peter 2:9-12
