In the prayer of praise, both a continual proclamation and exaltation of the sovereignty of the Almighty God proceeds freely from the worshipper's mouth right to the throne room of God.
Praising the Lord, should be a time of refreshing and renewal in the presence of the Lord.
In Psalm 34:1-3, David says;
'I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.'
Hebrews 13:15 encourages us;
'Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.'
High Praise is a weapon in the mouth and hands of a believer. Psalm 149:6, again David reminds us to sing to the Lord a new song and to;
'Let the high praises of God be in their mouth,
And a two-edged sword in their hand...'
Embattled King Jehoshaphat (2 Chronicles 20:15) and his nation praised God, as he heard:
'Listen, all you Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ' Do not be afraid or dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's.'
True to his promise, as Jehoshaphat and the whole of Judah sang and praised the Living God (with their little ones, their wives and their children) stood before the Lord in praise, God vanquished their enemies, and they did not need to fight (2 Chron. 20:16-24).
We are assured that God inhabits the praises of His people. As we pray in praise, God's Spirit moves in and enacts his will here on earth, by the power of His Holy Spirit.
Praise is for our Lord. Praise also brings us pure joy as we magnify and commune with Him!
Praise lifts our eyes from ourselves unto Our Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Prince of Peace, Everlasting Father and Our Mighty Man of war. For our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is already the Victor!
Praise the Lord! Praise His Holy name! As we draw nigh, He will draw nigh!
Beloved of the Lord, be encouraged!
This will definitely preach, Afua! Thank you for sharing 😊
